What Should you Check During Routine Checkup and Car Maintenance?

Change your Engine Oil
Change your Filters
1. Change Oil Filter
During the time of Regular Maintenance you must change the these filters on the following conditions.
Change your Oil filter immediately after changing the Engine Oil.
2. Change Cabin Filter
It is good to change your cabin filter during regular maintenance, if you drive you car in a more polluted city and mostly use your car is dusty areas. Otherwise if you mostly drive in indoor spaces or clean city you may change it once every 6 months.
3. Change Air Filter
Change your Air filter at least twice in a year. However, it completely depends on your usage. Remember Air filter is like a lungs to the engine. So in order to keep your engine powered up you should clean it during every regular maintenance or whenever you visits the repair shop even if for no work.

During Routine Checkup
During every routine checkup, whenever you visit the car repair shop, ask them to do a system diagnosis and give you a overall report. In this way, you will be able to know if any of your engine parts, electrical systems or transmission system has any issues or not. If any of the system misbehaves, take action immediately, or ask them to solve the problem right after. However, if every thing is working fine then go for the following manual checkups.
Ask the mechanic or shop to check the following elements:
1. Check your Brake System

2. Check your suspension system
This is not always necessary to ask your mechanic to open up the shocks and struts during every routine maintenance. Only after 1/2 years later than you change you shocks, if you feel like your car is bumpy in the breakers, or shaking in the bad roads, making crinch sounds, then you might ask them to take a look. Otherwise don’t waste your valuable time and money.
3. Check you brake fluid during your routine maintenance
When you go for a routine checkup ask your mechanic to check your brake fluid and change it, if required. It will not require more than 2 minutes to be checked and 30 minutes to be changed, if required.
4. Check your transmission fluid
Ask you mechanic to check your Transmission fluid and change it if contaminated. Remember to do the CVT calibration after every transmission fluid change. Also ask you mechanic to clean the transmission chamber before topping up the new fluid.
5. Finally a Test Drive
After completing all procedure of routine checkups, ask your mechanics to give a test drive if possible. It will help them better identify any problems, as they are professionals.
